Elevated payment failures via upstream partners

Between 11:18 and 13:10 UTC on 28 August 2026, several upstream payment
partners experienced a temporary outage across multiple regions. A fraction
of payment attempts routed through those partners failed or timed out at
authorization. Payments on unaffected routes processed normally.
Settled transactions, payouts, balances, and account data were not affected.
Failed attempts were not captured — no customer was debited, and any pending
authorization will be released by the issuing bank.
We escalated with the affected partners on detection and shifted traffic away
from degraded routes where alternate capacity was available. Service was
fully restored at 13:10 UTC and has been stable since.
We're tightening automated failover thresholds and expanding redundant
routing coverage in the affected regions with our partners.
